Medicare and Medicare Managed Care

Medicare and Medicare Managed Care are entirely different programs.

Florida Ear and Sinus does not participate with any Medicare Managed Care Plans.  The only Medicare replacement plans that we participate in are Private Fee For Service .  It will clearly say PFFS on your insurance card.

If you choose to be treated at our facility and you have a PPO or HMO Medicare managed care plan, you will be charged Medicare rates and be considered a self pay patient with payment due at the time of service.

It’s Your Choice.

You can receive your Medicare benefits through the fee-for-service delivery system or through a managed care plan.

Fee for Service System:

You can choose any licensed physician and use the services of any hospital, health care provider or facility certified by Medicare.  Medicare pays a share of your hospital, doctor, and other health care expenses.  You are responsible for certain deductibles and coinsurance payments—the portion of the bill Medicare does not pay.

You may purchase private insurance to supplement Medicare to avoid or reduce your out of pocket expenses after Medicare pays their portion.

Managed Care Plans :

Each managed care plan has its own network of hospitals, physicians, and hospitals.  Services usually must be obtained from the physicians and facilities that are part of the plan.

What Factors Should I Consider?
